UK regulation

UK mandate e-invoicing for all VAT invoices from 2029 — but now the cash flow problem is bigger than ever.

The UK does not yet require most businesses to use Peppol or structured e-invoicing today, but the government has confirmed that VAT e-invoicing will become mandatory from 2029. Paylists software is available in the UK for invoicing and cash flow; Peppol functionality is not currently available for UK businesses unless Paylists confirms otherwise in writing.

That makes the real problem in the UK late payments and weak cash flow visibility, not compliance. Paylists is built to solve exactly that — contracts, invoicing, automated reminders, open-banking payment collection and a live cash flow forecast in one place.

If you also trade with EU customers, Paylists will support Peppol delivery to Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and other EU markets as those country pages launch.

More countries: Paylists is also available in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden & Ireland.

UK invoicing & cash flow software — questions, answered

Not yet — for most businesses. Unlike Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg, the UK has no general mandate for B2B e-invoicing or Peppol. However, some UK public sector buyers — notably the NHS — already require their suppliers to send invoices via Peppol. Otherwise, UK businesses are free to send invoices via PDF, email and now structured formats. Paylists supports all of these.
Peppol functionality is not currently available for UK businesses unless Paylists confirms otherwise in writing. We can still help you send PDFs and structured XML by email. See our Peppol country availability page for the latest status.
We surface overdue invoices, calculate statutory interest you could legally claim, and send polite chase emails on a schedule you control. The legal action stays your decision — we make sure you have the data and the audit trail.
Accounting tools focus on the books. Paylists focuses on the gap between contract and cash: automated invoice generation from contracts, intelligent chasing and a true cash flow forecast. Many UK SMEs run Paylists alongside their accounting software.

Stop chasing invoices. Take control of your UK cash flow.
